On March 20, the new state-of-the-art concrete plant of Beton- und Fertigteilgesellschaft mbH Lauchhammer (BFL) was ceremonially put into operation. At the inauguration ceremony, many guests from politics and industry were present to get a personal impression of the new plant, among them the Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy of the State of Brandenburg Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Steinbach (SPD). The new concrete plant is an important investment into the future of the company and strengthens the location in Lauchhammer.
Investment for the future of the company
After the previous concrete plant of BFL had done its job reliably for 32 years, the construction of a new plant had become necessary, as the already demanding production of concrete will become even more complex in the future in the face of increasing requirements.
The reasons for this were not only the ongoing developments of today's building materials, which can only be countered with modern technology. During the construction of the new plant the highest attention was also paid to occupational safety requirements. After a one-year construction period, the first trial operation of the new plant took place starting October 24, 2022.
With the investment in a new, state-of-the-art concrete plant with fully automated control for the color and fiber dosing system, B+F Betonfertigteilgesellschaft Lauchhammer mbH is taking an important step into the future and its sustainability. The plant is one of the largest single investments in BFL's corporate history and was one of the key projects in the General Atomics Europe group in 2022.
Contribution to sustainability and resource savings
Climate change and its consequences also pose major challenges for the cement industry, since, like in many other industries, greenhouse gas emissions must be severely reduced. By investing in a new concrete plant in Lauchhammer, B+F Beton- und Fertigteilgesellschaft mbH is meeting this challenge and making an important contribution to a climate-neutral future.
In the future, the company will be taking a step away from the use of clinker-intensive cements and towards a new generation of cements as well as an extensive range of filling materials in order to permanently reduce CO2 emissions and thus make concrete, an important building material, viable for the future. Thanks to the new concrete plant, some of the precast elements from BFL will also have a lower weight, making their transport easier and more environmentally friendly.
With the new concrete plant, the company, which belongs to the General Atomics Europe group, is investing in environmental protection. Modern mixing technology from EIRICH
During planning of the new plant, the traditional Baden-Württemberg based company Maschinenfabrik Gustav Eirich GmbH & Co KG was chosen. "We decided in favor of the plant supplier EIRICH. The newest and best mixing technology on the market, allowing us in the future a state-of-the-art, faster and, most importantly, high-quality production of a wide variety of concrete types," says Hermann Stenzhorn, Managing Director of B+F Beton- und Fertigteilgesellschaft mbH Lauchhammer.
The new concrete plant opens up new production possibilities for BFL and increases the company's capacity.
